Terms of Service
Read Makank’s Terms of Service to understand customer booking requests and how workspace owners list and manage their venues across Egypt.
Draft for review — operator identity and legal review pending: 2026-10-02
1. Our service and these terms
Makank connects customers with independent coworking spaces, cafés, meeting rooms and creative studios in Egypt. We provide discovery, booking requests and management tools. The venue operator supplies the space and its on-site services. These terms cover the platform; a venue’s disclosed rules also apply to the venue service.
These terms do not remove any mandatory consumer rights or our responsibility for our own services. The operator and contact information for the platform appear on our About & Contact page.
2. Accounts and authority
Provide accurate contact details, protect your sign-in credentials and do not use another person’s account. You must have the legal capacity to enter the relevant agreement. A person acting for a business must be authorized to do so. This service is not designed for children; do not create a child’s account or submit a child’s personal data.
3. Booking requests and venue payments
Submitting a request does not guarantee availability. Check its status in your account and obtain the venue’s confirmation before travelling or paying. A check-in code identifies a booking; it is not a payment receipt. Contact the venue to confirm facilities, access needs, price, taxes, deposits and house rules before committing.
There is no online payment for a customer booking. After confirmation, venue booking payments are settled directly with the venue using the methods it accepts. Makank does not currently hold customer booking funds or provide an escrow service. Keep your payment evidence and request an invoice from the supplier. Never send passwords, one-time codes or full card details through a booking message.
4. Changes, cancellations and refunds
Read the Cancellation & Refund Policy and the venue’s disclosed conditions before confirmation or payment. A platform status change does not itself return a payment made to a venue. Undisclosed fees cannot be justified simply by reference to these terms. Applicable statutory remedies take priority over conflicting venue conditions.
5. Space owners and staff
Only list a space you are authorized to offer. Keep prices, location, photos, capacity, availability and rules accurate. Obtain the permissions and licenses needed to operate, meet safety obligations, disclose all charges and cancellation conditions, and provide the agreed service. Platform publication is not a guarantee of licensing, insurance or safety.
Owners are responsible for permissions they give staff. Use customer booking details only to fulfil the booking, provide related support or meet a legal obligation. Do not reuse them for unrelated marketing without a separate lawful basis and any required consent.
6. Owner subscriptions
The plan selected at purchase defines its price in EGP, billing period, features and limits. Current plans belong to an owner account and cover its spaces within the plan limits. Paid activation requires administrative verification of payment; a pending selection is not a promise of active paid features. Use only the payment instructions displayed in your account.
There is currently no automatic card debit for renewal. Renewal requires a further payment and confirmation. Changes to prices or plans must be disclosed before a new purchase or renewal; they do not retrospectively change an agreed paid period. Archiving a plan must not itself cancel existing contractual entitlements. Billing errors, duplicate payments and statutory refund rights remain reviewable.
7. Content, reviews and suggestions
You retain ownership of content you submit. Give us a non-exclusive permission to host, format and display it as needed to operate the platform, using our service providers for that purpose. Only upload content you own or have permission to use; do not publish private information, misleading reviews or infringing material.
Space suggestions are requests for our team to consider, not bookings, endorsements or a promise that a venue will join. Submit public business information only. Suggestion counts measure submissions and may include repeats; they are not verified counts of unique customers.
8. Fair use and suspension
Do not commit fraud, harass others, submit spam, bypass access controls or misuse booking information. We may restrict harmful or unlawful activity or remove violating content. Where practicable we will explain the reason and allow a response; urgent security or legal issues may require immediate action. Account closure does not erase existing payment obligations or mandatory rights.
9. Responsibility and disputes
Listings are provided by venue operators and availability can change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, a particular booking volume or business revenue. We remain responsible where the law requires it, including for our own conduct. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or mandatory consumer protections.
Egyptian law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. Contact us first with your booking or payment reference so we can investigate. You retain the right to approach the Consumer Protection Agency, the competent regulator or the competent courts; no compulsory foreign arbitration or waiver of statutory remedies is imposed.
10. Changes to these terms
We will publish a dated version when these terms change and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes do not retrospectively alter confirmed transactions. We will request a new acceptance where required. Privacy practices are described separately in the Privacy Policy.
